192.268 1.1 is the default IP address used by routers to enter the admin panel settings at http://192.268.1.1.
By accessing the web management page, you will be able to make changes to wireless settings (Network Name SSID, Change WiFi Password), Create Guest Networks, MAC Filtering, Access / Parental Controls, and various other settings.
How to login to 192.268.1.1?
To log in to the 192.268.1.1 administrative panel, follow these steps:
Open the web browser you are using to access the Internet.
Click http://192.268.1.1 or type 192.268 1.1 and press Enter.
A login page or pop-up window will appear.
Enter “admin” for the username and “admin” for the password. (List of default router passwords)
You will now be taken to the admin panel.
Note: Make sure you enter the correct IP address, do not use “www”, “https” at the beginning of the URL or an incorrectly typed value such as 192.268 1.1. An IP address always consists of numeric numbers, not alphabets.
How do I change the WiFi password or SSID of the router?
Changing the default router password is the first step in protecting your WiFi network from intruders. Although the process of changing the router password varies by router brand, the overall concept is the same, so you can take the guidelines from the following steps to get the basic idea.
Change WiFi password
Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your router, such as 192.268.1.1 or 192.268 1.1
Log in to the web-based administration interface using your username and password. Most routers have a default administrator username and admin/password.
Find the wireless settings and go to the wireless security page.
If not yet, enable the “WPA / WPA2” security option and enter the password of your choice in the Password field.
Now click Save to apply the changes.
Once the changes are applied, your router will restart automatically and your WiFi will be disconnected. Use the new WiFi password as specified to reconnect to the network.

Open your browser and enter http://192.268 1.1 in the address bar.
Enter your username and password when prompted. For most routers, the default username is admin and the password is admin/password.
Select Wireless and click Wireless Settings.
In the name of the wireless network (SSID), enter as you prefer.
Click the Save button to save the settings.
No access to 192.268.1.1
If you cannot access 192.268.1.1 or the browser fails, this may be due to one of the following reasons:
Make sure you are connected to WiFi
The web-based management page does not require an active internet connection, but you must be connected to WiFi to be able to log in via your desktop computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Check the IP address again
The default gateway address of your device may be different from 192.268.1.1. Try to find the default gateway address for your device and try to do so at that IP address.
Clear browsing data
Clear your browser’s cache and cookies and try again.
Update your browser
The simplest solution to this is to reset the router, which will revert back any custom changes you may have made to the default settings.
To start a factory reset, simply press the small RESET button on the back of your router.
